The two friends who prompted me to make this blog are well on their way to their own promotional work and i have made so many new friends who are artist, designers, pastry chef’s, photographers, etc, etc, i think I’m gonna change this to my a My Awesome Artist Friends blog instead.
what do you think?
Hello friends, this is my roommate Devon otherwise known as Dee the Food Goddess
Last week Devon’s father was admitted to the hospital with pneumonia, this week they found out he has leukemia.

Like alot of people struggling in the city, he doesn’t have insurance. He is expected to be in the hospital for (at least) a minimum of 30 days and that is NOT going to be cheap. 10,000 is the average cost of a hospital stay per day, not including the chemo which is one of the most expensive treatments out there. And If chemo doesn’t work out they will look at using Devon as a bone marrow donor.
I am asking you from the bottom of me heart, please donate anything you can, a $5 or $10 is just fine to help him with the hospital fee’s. They are asking for $5,000 but I’m guessing that a 30 day or more hospital stay is gonna cost way more than $5,000 without insurance
Please even if you can’t just pass it along.
She is like a little sister and i feel like this kid just can’t catch a break. Right now she is about to leave her full time job to be with him in New York. She bought a one way ticket and goddess knows when she will be back. Please, please, please, click the link below to donate and then pass it on:

This summer, I have plans to travel to Cochabamba, Bolivia, for an anthropological field school through my university, Rutgers.
This has the potential to be a life-changing experience for me. I’ll be earning undergraduate credits for my degree in Cultural Anthropology. I’ll be improving my Spanish speaking skills.
Most importantly, I will be working with residents on the ground in Cochabamba with securing access to water. For those who don’t know, Cochabamba was the site of the 2000 “Water Wars,” in which residents fought against water privatization. Water privatization resulted in skyrocketing water prices, leaving many low-income residents with no access to water at all.
This field school has been operated by Rutgers University for the past five years, and everyone I’ve known who has gone on this trip has described it as an amazing experience.
The problem is this: I don’t have enough money. In scholarships and grants I have $3000 thus far. I need to earn/raise about $4500 between now and June 26. This money will go towards the rest of the costs of the program (approx. $2000), flight/travel costs (approx. $1500) and spending money in Bolivia (no less than $500 and no more than $1000).
This is a huge deal for me. I have wanted to travel and work in Latin America since I was in high school. I don’t want to miss out on this chance because I’m low-income.
Every little bit counts. Please, if you can donate, Paypal me at jessica.rosney@gmail.com.
Then, repost this message.
Can’t donate? Just repost! Please, this is for a really good reason…people receive donations for simply being Tumblr popular. I’m not. I just want to make a difference in the world in any way I can.
Help my friend get to #Bolivia to fight #waterprivatization! Please donate! She has been one of my best friends for years, and both of us have struggled, though low income, and with not many opportunites to get through and finish a four year degree. Now she has an opportunity to do some real research in her feild but not the funds.
Please click the orginial link and donate then reblog on tumblr and reshare this on facebook! Thank you!!! <3

I started this blog mostly as a way to kick Dee the food goodess and Tee the Hair goddess in the ass and get them to start promoting their craft.
Tee finally got the message and started her own hair blog but it’s taken Dee a lot longer to find the time to get started.
BUT FINALLY WE HAVE WORN HER DOWN!
If you like all of her previous post please take the time to start following her on wordpress as well!
ALSO, take a look at the Lavender Honey cupcakes she made me to celebrate the fact that I finally left my job!

Oh man Mariah Carle + Dark Garden = amazing shots.
If you live in the Bay Area and have the resources I suggest you set up an appointment!

#May1st, don’t do it becuase Occupy is calling for it, do it becuase WE ALL ALL KNOW THAT SOMETHING IS VERY WRONG with our world, and staying at home, going to work like drones every day will not change anything.
Walk out if you are tired of Deadly Racism, Sexism, Ableism and Homophobia. Walk out if you are sick of a goverment that bends over back wards for crooks, racist, homophobs, law makers, lobbiest, ceo’s and but neglects the people who need it’s protection the most.
Make your sign, for whatever it is that you you think needs to change. Make it for Oscar Grant, for Treyvon, for the 13 year old who got ganged raped, for your little sister, your child, your family that has had to struggle.
WALK OUT FOR YOUR SELF AND YOUR FUTURE.
LET the GOVERNMENT KNOW THAT THEY HAVE A PROBLEM ON THEIR HANDS… because we have accepted their problems for too long.
Don’t be polite to your masters, your oppressors, who legislate on your body, and make racism law, don’t do it on may 1st. Come into the street with the people.
